Luca Loiodice was previously an architect at Symantec Corp. where he designed and implemented the industry's first anti-phishing detection product featuring statistical models such as stochastic N-gram models, Levenshtein similarity metrics and Bayesian scoring. That product is used by the eBay toolbar as well as by Symantec's flagship Norton Internet Security and Norton Confidential products–all of which protect millions of online users every day from phishing attacks. Before joining Symantec, Mr. Loiodice was a founder of iStillo where he developed an information security application providing policy-based scanning and filtering of e-mail, to protect organizations against spam attacks and loss of confidential information. He also worked at IBM and Tivoli where he was a technical architect. Mr. Loiodice holds numerous patents on the behavioral detection of online threats. |
