Dr. De Temmerman joined the company in 1984 in Louvain La Neuve, Belgium, in the research and development department. During his career with the company, he has worked in several North American and European locations performing technical, marketing and commercial functions of increasing responsibility.
In the early 1990's, Dr. De Temmerman was involved in creating and regulating a market for Hurricane products in the U.S. During his tenure as Saflex Technology Director, a series of products and processes were launched that later successfully became the standard in the laminated glass industry. As of 2000, Dr. De Temmerman became more involved in Business Management of material science and chemistry based businesses, first in the European markets and later with global responsibilities.
Dr. De Temmerman holds a Master of Sciences degree in Chemical Engineering and a doctorate in Applied Sciences from the University of Leuven, Belgium, and a degree in Business Administration from Brussels University, Belgium.
Dr. De Temmerman serves on several Boards of Directors. He is Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Flexsys Company and Director of CPFilms Inc. He is Managing Director of Solutia Europe and serves as director or president at several Solutia companies throughout the world.
