Louis M. Rundio, Jr. is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Chicago office. He is a member of the Environmental Practice Group, where he focuses his practice extensively in the area of hazardous substance liability. Louis regularly represents major manufacturers in their dealings with federal, state and local environmental authorities in the areas of permit applications, compliance with administrative regulations, enforcement proceedings and environmental litigation.
Louis' substantial trial experience in both general commercial and environmental matters adds a vital dimension to the difficult task of solving acute and often complicated environmental problems. He also has participated in numerous hazardous waste cleanup cases and has negotiated significant and innovative settlements in major groundwater pollution suits, and has worked extensively with engineers, geologists, toxicologists and others in technical and scientific disciplines.
Louis' hazardous substance liability practice includes the defense of claims for personal injuries due to exposures to chemical substances. Such "toxic tort" cases are on the cutting edge of the development of product liability law.
Louis is a member of the Illinois State Bar.
