Louie A. Brown Jr. is a partner in the firm. He represents the firm's diverse clients before the California State Legislature and various state administrative agencies.
Before joining the firm, Louie was Director of Ag Chemicals, Food Safety, and International Trade in the National Affairs Division of the California Farm Bureau Federation. In this position he represented the organization before Congress pursuing changes in federal regulations adversely impacting California agriculture including the Food Quality Protection Act, methyl bromide, trade sanctions, and biotechnology.
Louie earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California. While at Cal Poly he served as Student Body Executive Vice-President and as the founding chairman of the Cal Poly Open House Committee. He also received the outstanding graduating student award from Cal Poly's College of Agriculture for contributions to the community.
In 1991, the National Future Farmers of America elected Louie to serve its 400,000-student membership as the Western Region Vice President. During his year of service, he represented the organization before the President of the United States, Members of Congress, international diplomats, and industry leaders. His travels included 35 states and 3 countries.
In addition to his work with the firm, Louie is deeply committed to the success of education in agriculture. In 1996 State Superintendent of Public Instruction Delaine Eastin appointed him as a member of the Department of Education's Agriculture Education Advisory Committee He also serves as member of the California Future Farmers of America Board of Directors, the Sacramento County Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom and the California State Fair's Agriculture Advisory Committee.
Louie and his wife, Kymberlee, reside in Elk Grove with their two children, Abigayle and Griffin.Education
