Lorie Shoemaker, Chief Nurse Executive for Palomar Pomerado Health, oversees the nursing divisions for Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, California, a 317-bed hospital; Pomerado Hospital in Poway, California, a 107-bed hospital; as well as two distinct part skilled nursing facilities and various clinical outreach services. She has 20 years experience with PPH, having fulfilled progressive management positions since 1992 and serving as Chief Nurse Executive since October of 2000.
Lorie received her Registered Nursing degree from the College of the Desert in Palm Desert, CA in 1974. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from National University in 1997 and Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Phoenix in 2000. Lorie is an alumnus of the 2004 Johnson & Johnson/Wharton Fellows Program in Management for Nurse Executives and in 2005 obtained certification in Advanced Nursing Administration (CNAA-BC) from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Lorie serves on the California State University San Marcos Advisory Board in the development of a new nursing program and as Co-Chair of the San Diego and Imperial County Professional Practice Task Force, a sub-committee of the Association of California Nurse Leaders (ACNL). Lorie also serves as the San Diego County representative to the Committee on Nominations for ACNL and is an active member of American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. |
