Lori Mills is a partner in the firm’s Environmental Practice Group in our Princeton office. Lori’s practice is marked by its versatility integrating a strong litigation practice with the roles of compliance counselor and transactional attorney. Among the range of matters encompassed by Lori’s practice:
Engaging in complex, multiparty litigation including:
cost recovery litigation with federal and state agencies under Superfund, RCRA, and analogous state statutes;
private party contribution litigation, mediation and other allocation proceedings;
toxic tort litigation for personal injury or property damage arising from alleged exposure to hazardous substances.
Participating in strategic planning to manage high profile environmental cases.
Organizing and managing PRP and joint defense groups.
Negotiating consent decrees, administrative consent orders and other settlements for cost recovery, natural resource damages and implementation of remedial activities.
Advising clients with respect to environmental implications of real estate and corporate transactions including the use of environmental risk management tools such as deed notices, indemnities, releases, contribution protection and environmental insurance.
Counseling with respect to compliance with remediation and reporting requirements under various state and federal statutes and regulations such as the New Jersey Spill Act, WPCA, SWMA, HSWA, CERCLA, RCRA and TSCA.
Representing clients in these and other aspects of environmental law, Lori’s focus is on creative problem solving. She integrates a broad range of legal and technical experience with strategic thinking and an understanding of client objectives and business strategies to help clients manage environmental risk and liability.
In General. Following graduation from law school, Lori served as law clerk to the Honorable Paul A. Lowengrub, Superior Court of New Jersey, Chancery Division. Lori joined Drinker Biddle in 1995. Lori has lectured on environmental law and is a member of the New Jersey and Pennsylvania Bar Associations. |
