Lord Lang, age 66, was a member of the British Parliament from 1979 to 1997. He served in the cabinet as president of the Board of Trade and secretary of state for trade and industry from 1995 to 1997 and as secretary of state for Scotland from 1990 to 1995. Lord Lang is chairman of BFS US Special Opportunities Trust plc and Thistle Mining Inc. He is also non-executive chairman of the Patrons of the National Galleries of Scotland and a governor of Rugby School, England. |
