Dr. Olajide received her medical degree from the University of Ibadan College of Medicine in Ibadan, Nigeria. She continued her studies at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta where she completed the Internal Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Olajide then attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she completed a Fellowship Program in Hematology/Oncology. While at UNC-CH, Dr. Olajide devoted much ofher time to research endeavors.
She articipated in the Clinical Research Curriculum, K30 Grant from the National Institutes of Health and the Clinical Research Training Institute with the American Society of Hematology. She was the co-investigator for several clinical trials through the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Division of Hematology and Oncology at UNC-CH Health Care. She also served as the research assistant on the REACH project for the adolescent HIV/AIDS research network at the University of Alabama, Birmingham. Dr. Olajide was also the recipient of the 1997 Student Intern Grant sponsored by the Pediatrics AIDS Foundation.
Known to patients and staff as Dr. Lola, Dr. Olajide is thrilled to be working at Rex Cancer Center with Rex Hematology Oncology Associates.
