Lodwrick (Lod) Cook is currently Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of Pacific Capital Group, a merchant bank that invests in media, real estate, financial services, biotechnology and telecommunications. From 1998-2003, he served as Co-Chairman of Global Crossing Ltd., which built the first global, seamless fiber-optic network with over 100,000 route miles connecting more than 200 cities around the globe. Prior to that, he had a 39-year distinguished career at Atlantic Richfield Company (ARCO) and was appointed President and CEO of ARCO in October 1985. Upon his retirement from ARCO in June 1995, became Chairman Emeritus.
Mr. Cook also has also accomplished a wealth of national and international volunteer work. He serves as a Trustee of the George Bush Presidential Library Foundation, and is a former member of the Board of Advisors of the Carter Center of Emory University. In November 1994, upon appointment by Her Majesty the Queen, Mr. Cook was invested by The Prince of Wales with the insignia of Honorary Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (KBE) for his contribution to Anglo-American relations and support for philanthropic projects around the world. |
