Liz Kramer is an accomplished and strategic litigator who loves a challenge. Liz represents both plaintiffs and defendants in cases of all sizes, primarily in the areas of construction, business and commercial litigation, and estate litigation.
On the construction side, she has provided counsel in a multimillion dollar case involving the construction of an energy facility in California, defended residential contractors from claims related to water intrusion, and resolved many cases between contractors, subcontractors, owners and insurers. Liz also has significant experience with professional negligence claims. She has both pursued and defended malpractice claims involving architects, accountants and engineers. In the growing area of trust and estate litigation, Liz has represented parties in will contests and litigation involving trusts. In addition, Liz handles all types of general business litigation from contract disputes to large consumer class actions.
Liz is the co-author of a chapter, Commercial Defamation and Disparagement, in the Business and Commercial Litigation in Federal Courts treatise published by the American Bar Association in 2005 and updated each subsequent year. She was one of only nine associates out of 199 attorneys nationwide to contribute to the treatise. In 2007, Liz published an article on the arbitrability of void contracts, The Short Shelf Life of Onvoy, Inc. v. SHAL, LLC: What Remains of the Minnesota Supreme Court Ruling After Buckeye Check Cashing, Inc. v. Cardegna? in the William Mitchell Law Review. Liz also authored Achieving Equitable Education Through the Courts: A Comparative Analysis of Three States, which appeared in the Journal of Law & Education (2002).
In 2009, Liz was named one of just 25 individuals recognized as "Up and Coming Attorneys" by Minnesota Lawyer. Liz is an active participant in Leonard, Street and Deinard’s pro bono efforts and received the firm’s Pro Bono Service in the Public Interest Award in 2003. She is interested and involved in First Amendment issues and volunteers for the Minnesota Civil Liberties Union (MCLU).
