Ms. Mead joined RatnerPrestia in 2007 as a member of the firm’s Chemical, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical and Materials Patent Procurement Group. She is familiar with many aspects of institutional and clinical research, including chemistry, molecular biology, and forensic science. She recently interned in the legal department of a pharmaceutical company where she worked on various issues within both the commercial law and patent law groups. She is presently studying for a Juris Doctorate at Temple University’s Beasley School of Law in the evenings and working toward her patent agent registration. Ms. Mead earned her Bachelors of Science in Biotechnology from The Pennsylvania State University. While obtaining her bachelors degree, she worked as a research assistant in the Molecular Biology Department, conducting research on the structural regulation of gene transcription. During college, she also interned in a pharmaceutical company’s Drug Metabolism department, where she performed research on the biotransformation pathways of a major patented drug. Since receiving her Bachelors degree, Ms. Mead has worked in the Clinical Pharmacology department of a pharmaceutical company, where she ran assays for determining drug levels in clinical trial participants. She also worked as a Senior Biotechnologist at the American Red Cross, performing DNA sequencing for patients seeking bone marrow transplants. Ms. Mead is a member of the Benjamin Franklin Inn of Court and Philadelphia Intellectual Property Law Association. |
