Lisa A. Burger is an associate in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm’s New York office. She is a member of the Trial Department.
Before joining McDermott, Lisa was an assistant district attorney in the Bronx District Attorney’s Office, where she prosecuted bench and jury trials to verdict, presented felony cases to the grand jury, conducted pretrial evidentiary hearings, oral arguments and witness interviews, and arraigned cases ranging from misdemeanors to homicides.
As a legal intern during law school, working under faculty supervision, Lisa represented clients in criminal cases and argued motions, conducted pre-trial hearings and negotiated pleas. As a summer associate for a private practice attorney in New York, she was part of the legal team that defended a city police officer against brutality charges in a high-profile case.
Lisa is admitted to practice in New York.
