For six years, Linda Vinyard spent most of each day watching history being made. As one of a handful of people who served on the executive staff of both Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and his predecessor, former Mayor Dennis W. Archer, Linda has been a backbone to two of Detroit’s busiest people. As a result of her efforts, she received the City of Detroit Service Award.
A fan of ballroom and Latin dancing, Linda keeps on her toes these days by assisting John Bailey with his busy schedule. Her quick wit and "Leo the Lion" nature ensure that things get done - and always with a smile.
A management degree from Davenport University might suggest that Linda is a serious person. Then again, she was almost mistaken for Tina Turner in her wig and feathers at a party, so it’s clear that Linda maintains a great sense of humor too.
After spending the day keeping John organized, Linda heads home to Detroit to her Yorkie named Tyson. She has two daughters and two sons who have moved away from home, which probably helps Linda keep her sense of humor these days. |
