Linda Casey is a senior trademark paralegal at Foley Hoag. With over 15 years of experience as a trademark paralegal, both at the firm and serving in-house, she handles all aspects of U.S. trademark prosecution. Linda is responsible for the prosecution and maintenance of international and domestic trademark portfolios, as she communicates and coordinates with business clients on the maintenance of their marks. That includes the filing of trademark applications and related prosecution documents, review of watch notices, the preparation of opposition extension requests, and monitoring of deadlines.
As part of the trademark filing process, Linda conducts on-line preliminary clearance searches for trademarks. She also orders full availability research reports and analyzes search results. Her work also includes preparing and filing documents with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, as well as helping with such trademark office action responses as gathering evidence and preparing supporting affidavits. For foreign trademark filings, Linda prepares the necessary instructions and documents and corresponds with foreign associates.
Linda also provides more intellectual property services. She prepares and records assignments and other transfers of intellectual property, prepares copyright applications and supporting affidavits, and provides support for intellectual property due diligence in transactions.
