Linda T. Makings is an associate in the firm's Intellectual Property Practice Group. Linda counsels clients in the areas of trademark, copyright and domain name matters.
Her trademark practice includes clearance, prosecution and counseling with respect to domestic and international trademarks and brand portfolios, trademark licensing and enforcement of trademark rights through demand letters, opposition and cancellation proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and litigation.
Linda regularly advises clients on copyright matters including the negotiation and drafting of third-party agreements such as software licenses, settlement agreements and entertainment contracts. She also counsels clients on domain name matters and has successfully handled domain name disputes in numerous administrative domain name proceedings. Linda also has significant experience in conducting large scale intellectual property due diligence in corporate transactions.
Linda was most recently an associate at a large general practice law firm.
In General. Linda received her J.D. from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in 2002 and her bachelor's degree in criminal justice from The George Washington University in 1996. She is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia. |
