Linda Greene directs MacFarlane Partners’ efforts in establishing and maintaining business relationships with local, national and international government officials in Washington, D.C. She also coordinates and participates in community events that further the firm’s business objectives with respect to its activities in the Washington, D.C., area. A long-time public relations consultant and community activist in the District of Columbia involved in virtually all mayoral and city council campaigns since the early 1970s, Linda has more than 30 years of experience in public relations, event planning, fund raising and government service. Prior to joining MacFarlane Partners, she was chief of staff for District of Columbia City Councilmember (and former Mayor) Marion Barry after having served as manager and communications director of his successful 2004 city council campaign. Previously, Linda was president and chief executive officer of Linda Greene and Associates, Inc., a public relations firm she founded that served a local, national and international clientele, including the Congressional Black Caucus Policy and Leadership Institute; Mayor Anthony Williams’s Inaugural Committee; Dominion Manekin Development; the Soweto Heritage Trust; the United Negro College Fund; and entertainers Dionne Warwick, the Dells and M.C. Hammer.Among the many successful events she helped organize, she was particularly noted for her work as national director of fundraising for the Million Man March in 1995, and then as manager and coordinator of two follow-up conferences to the Million Man March that were convened by the National African-American Leadership Summit in 1995 and 1996. Linda currently chairs the Anacostia Streetcar Committee, which is working to bring on-street rail transit to the eastern part of the District of Columbia, and the Marion Barry Scholarship and Education Fund. In addition, she serves on the boards of directors of the Anacostia Coordinating Committee; the Washington Baseball Community Trust; the District of Columbia’s Stadium Task Force; and Notae Media Group, a large, South African infotainment company. Co-founder of the Imani Foundation, a social services organization operating in Washington, D.C., Linda also has served on the boards of the Good Samaritan Foundation and the Washington Performing Arts Society.
