Linda Chambers, Executive Vice-President, Generation Technology & Supply Chain Management is responsible for TransAlta’s major maintenance, engineering, project management, life cycle technical fleet planning and supply chain management.
Prior to this role, Mrs. Chambers was President, U.S. Operations, responsible for TransAlta’s U.S. operations including electricity generation facilities in Washington and New York states, coal mine operations in Washington and commercial, supplier, customer and stakeholder relationships across the United States. During this time, she was responsible for a significant capital investment program, including the building of Centralia Gas, a 250 MW gas-fired generation plant in Washington.
Mrs. Chambers joined TransAlta in 1996 as Vice-President, Communications and was later promoted to Senior Vice-President, Human Resources, responsible for the strategic leadership of TransAlta’s human resources function and corporate facilities management. Prior to joining TransAlta, Mrs. Chambers held a variety of senior management positions with Canadian Airlines International Ltd., primarily in the areas of domestic and international marketing. She has also held senior marketing and communications positions with the Royal Ontario Museum, Shaw Festival Theatre and the Art Gallery of Ontario.
Mrs. Chambers has a bachelor of arts in creative writing and english literature from the University of Victoria. She has completed the executive management program at Queen’s University and received her accreditation from the Canadian Public Relations Society in 1991.
She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Electricity Association and also serves on their executive committee. |
