Ms. Browning is counsel to the firm. Since joining the firm in 1999, Ms. Browning has counseled and represented municipalities, gas districts, and other publicly owned gas, electricity, and water suppliers in the areas of gas supply and transportation on interstate and intrastate pipelines. She has represented numerous clients in negotiating gas supply contracts utilizing the North American Energy Standards Board (NAESB) "Contract for Sale and Purchase of Natural Gas" and commodity-related derivative transactions under the International Swaps and Derivatives Association, Inc. (ISDA) "Master Agreement" forms, as well as customized gas supply contracts. She has also been active in assisting governmental entities in the acquisition of natural gas reserves.Ms. Browning worked for Sonat Inc. in various legal and business capacities for over fifteen years. She was an attorney for Southern Natural Gas Company and later managed gas transportation for Sonat's gas marketing affiliate. She also served as Director of Legal and Regulatory Affairs for Sonat Power Marketing. From 1999 to 2001, she was an adjunct professor at Cumberland School of Law, Samford University.Ms. Browning is admitted to practice before the Fifth, Eleventh, and D.C. Circuits, as well as the U.S. District Court, N.D. Alabama. Ms. Browning is a native of Tennessee, but she has resided with her husband in Birmingham, Alabama, since 1976. |
