Associate professor (ret.), William Jewell College
Linda J. French, 57, is retired from her position as assistant professor of business administration at William Jewel College in Liberty, Mo. Prior to joining the William Jewell faculty, French was a partner at the law firm of Blackwell Sanders Peper Martin LLP, and served as senior vice president-general counsel/secretary of Payless Cashways, Inc.
French's leadership experience also includes a wide range of community involvement. She recently served as the National Chair, Disaster Services for the American Red Cross. She is currently a member of the board of trustees for William Jewell College; a member of the board of directors and co-treasurer for the Diastole Scolars' Center; and a life membership on the board of directors for the Kansas City Chapter of the American Red Cross.
French received her law degree with distinction from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law. She earned her bachelor's degree from William Jewell College where she graduated summa cum laude.
