Linda Fienberg Biography :

Linda D. Fienberg is President, NASD Dispute Resolution and Executive Vice President and Chief Hearing Officer, Regulatory Policy & Oversight. She has responsibility for NASD’s alternative dispute resolution program and the disciplinary hearing program. Prior to joining NASD in June 1996, Ms. Fienberg was a partner at the Washington, D.C. law firm of Covington & Burling. From 1979 to 1990, she was on the staff of the Securities and Exchange Commission where she held several senior staff positions including Executive Assistant to two Chairmen and Associate General Counsel in the General Counsel's Office, first for the Litigation section and then for the Counseling and Legislation section. She is a recipient of the SEC's Distinguished Service Award.

Ms. Fienberg serves on numerous bar and related committees. She is a member of the Executive Council of the Federal Bar Association's Securities Law Committee, where she has served as Chair; a former member and Vice-Chair of the Steering Committee of the D.C. Bar's Corporation, Finance, and Securities Committee; and a member of several American Bar Association subcommittees. She was a member of NASD's specially convened Task Force on Arbitration Policy for which she also served as the Reporter; the NASD's Legal Advisory Board; and its National Arbitration and Mediation Committee. She also has served as a member of the Advisory Committee on Procedures of the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit and of the Judicial Conference for the District of Columbia Circuit. She is a frequent participant in programs relating to the securities laws and to dispute resolution.

Ms. Fienberg is a graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center (J.D., exceptional or distinguished in all subjects); of Wesleyan University (M.A.T. with honors and Armstrong Award for first place in class); and of Cornell University (B.A. with distinction in all subjects and Phi Beta Kappa). She is a current member of the Boards of Directors of the National Partnership for Women and Families and the Abramson Foundation, and a former member of the Boards of the City Lights School and the Whitman Walker Clinic, non-profit organizations located in Washington, D.C.
