Linda Schwartz’s legal practice focuses on the areas of tax, business and compensation planning. She has worked extensively in the employee benefits area, advising individuals, unincorporated businesses, large and small closely-held and public corporations, and non-profit organizations. Her experience encompasses a full range of employee benefits programs, including qualified retirement plans (pension, profit sharing, stock bonus, 401(k), and employee stock ownership plans), welfare benefit plans, stock-based compensation plans, and non-qualified deferred compensation plans.For over 20 years in private practice, Linda has used her Masters in Taxation degree to touch a wide range of areas of the law outside of employee benefits as well. Clients have relied on her to provide a practical, compliance-based focus to solve their problems and help them accomplish various business objectives in the tax and employee benefits arena. In recent years, Linda expanded her expertise beyond private practice by moving to an in-house position as Vice President, Tax Council for employee Benefits, for a large international company based in London.Linda is licensed to practice law in Minnesota and Florida and is a member of the bar in both states. She has served for nine years on the Advisory Council for the Employee Benefits Section of the Minnesota State Bar Association, acting as Chair of the Section in 2002. She has taught numerous legal education seminars for academic groups, professional organizations and trade associations. |
