Linda B. Celauro is an experienced litigator and appellate practitioner, in both the state and federal courts, including the United States Supreme Court. Currently, her primary areas of practice are all areas of employment law defense and civil rights defense (in both employment and non-employment matters).
Prior to her concentration in employment and civil rights law, Ms. Celauro gained solid experience in many areas of corporate defense trial and appellate litigation, including antitrust, civil RICO, commercial contracts, franchise, government contracts, and product liability; and she continues a select and limited practice in some of these areas.
Ms. Celauro has a depth of experience in multiparty, class action, and complex litigation. While the majority of Ms. Celauro’s successes for clients have been achieved through dispositive motions, she has also achieved successful results for clients through bench and jury trials in the New Jersey federal and state (Law Division and General Equity) courts and in administrative hearings.
Ms. Celauro received her Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, in 1973 from Syracuse University, where she was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. She received her Juris Doctorate, with honors, from Rutgers University School of Law in 1977. Ms. Celauro was admitted to the bars of the State of New Jersey in 1977 and the State of New York in 1989. She is also admitted to the United States Supreme Court, the United States Courts of Appeal for the Second and Third Circuits, and the United States District Courts for the District of New Jersey and the Southern District of New York.
In 1992, Ms. Celauro conducted a seminar entitled "Effects of WARN and OWPBA on Reductions in Workforce" at the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education’s Labor Law Forum. She is the author of portions of the 1975 Report of the New Jersey Criminal Law Revision Committee, which drafted the New Jersey Code of Criminal Justice, enacted in 1978.
Ms. Celauro is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and its Committee on Higher Education and Section on Labor and Employment Law, the New York State Bar Association and its Labor and Employment Law Section, the American Bar Association and its Labor and Employment Law Section, the Association of the Federal Bar of the State of New Jersey, the New Jersey Women Lawyers’ Association, and Women Lawyers in Bergen County.
