Dr. Gerstik is the principal investigator on several schizophrenia, anxiety, and mood disorder studies. He joined the CCT team in November of 2004 as a research psychiatrist. Previously, Dr. Gertsik served as Medical Director for Clinical Trials at Cedars Sinai Medical Center Department of Psychiatry for three years (2001-2004). At Cedars-Sinai he oversaw a clinical research operation which included NIH-funded and private foundation funded studies along with clinical trials for several major pharmaceutical companies. Dr. Gertsik was a recipient of the NARSAD Young Investigator Award and NICAM award (R21) to conduct studies in applications of the methods of alternative and complimentary treatments in major depression. He had served as a member of Cedars-Sinai IRB for two years. Dr. Gertsik had published several peer-reviewed articles in the field of psychopharmacology, and he has presented his original research the NCDEU meeting (2004). Having received his M.D. from Medical School in Moscow, Russia, Dr. Gerstik completed his residency at UCLA/San Fernando Valley Psychiatry Training Program and his fellowship in Psychopharmacology at UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute. He is a recipient of a competitive scholarship to attend the Clinical Trials training course by the American Academy of Psychopharmacology. |
