Currently serving as the Avicena Group's chief scientific officer and chairman of the scientific advisory board, Dr. Fang has also served as a board member since 2001. He is nationally recognized as a clinician and teacher and has received numerous awards for excellence in teaching from Harvard Medical School, where he is a leading professor of internal medicine. Additionally, Dr. Fang currently holds positions at Massachusetts General Hospital, where he maintains an active practice in internal medicine and nephrology.
In addition to his clinical and academic achievements , Dr. Fang is also an accomplished entrepreneur, as evidenced by his founding of Catalyst, a healthcare consulting firm. He is also credited as a founding board member of Protocare, a home infusion company, and Physician Quality Care, a physician networking company involved in building the infrastructure for physician management. In addition to these positions, Dr. Fang previously served as clinical director and chief medical officer for Physician Dynamics, and he is presently a partner at Exit Strategies, a strategic healthcare consulting firm.
Highly regarded for his expertise, Dr. Fang presently serves on the board of directors of several healthcare/biotechnology companies including Sequitor, Biolink, SG Partners, and Physicians Dialysis Incorporated. He also serves as the chairman of the scientific advisory board for MEDAcorp, a healthcare consulting group.
Dr. Fang received a Ph.D. in physiology and biophysics from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. He did his medical training at Harvard Medical School and his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital where he served as chief resident in medicine. Dr. Fang completed his fellowship training in nephrology at Massachusetts General Hospital and is board certified in internal medicine and nephrology. |
