Les Cowie - Founder and Chief Developer of Visual Learning Systems
Les Cowie has an extensive background in developing multi-media education programs. Beginning in South Africa, Les formed Visicon and developed video-based training programs to teach high technology skills in 14 different languages. Combined with simple simulators and practical on-the-job experience, Les learned how to reduce occupational training periods from years to months, even weeks. Les came to the US in 1987. Through contracts with 3M Company, IBM and GMD, Visicon extended their effective learning approach to mainframe computer applications in the 80s to become one of the first developers of multi-media learning programs. Les focuses on the scripting and the visual content of the VLS modules. He works with the Content Providers to capture their presentations on video tape. He directs the team of video and audio editors. |
