Mr. Tlou, a Director in the firm’s Risk Management practice, advises Secura clients on risk management, merchant banking, as well as implementation of the provisions of the Financial Modernization Act of 1999. Mr. Tlou’s focus within risk management is risk management process implementation; capital allocation; asset/liability management; capital markets activities; financial modeling and analysis; and regulatory consulting.
Before joining Secura in 2000, he had been a senior staff member of the Federal Reserve Board in Washington since 1992, working in the Capital Markets, Financial Analysis and International Banking Divisions.
Most recently at the Federal Reserve Board, Mr. Tlou was a supervisory financial analyst in charge of treasury management at financial institutions that ranged in asset size from over $750 million to $50 billion in asset size.
Previously at the Board, he was a senior financial analyst in charge of risk management and modeling at financial institutions. He was responsible for crafting policies and procedures in treasury management for financial institutions, including liquidity and interest rate risk. He produced analysis on various banking businesses including venture capital, merchant banking and high yield underwriting activities.
Mr. Tlou is a graduate of the University of Iowa with a Masters of Business Administration, with an emphasis on finance, and of the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts in economics. He also taught numerous topics as part of the Federal Reserve System’s examiner training program. |
