Lee Monthei is the Vice President of Engineering and Projects for Alyeska with oversight of Engineering services, Project and Major Maintenance implementation, and Equipment fleet management.
With an undergraduate degree from the Oregon Institute of Technology in Civil Engineering and a Master of Science degree from the University of Alaska Anchorage in Engineering Management, Lee came to Alyeska in 1991. Lee has extensive experience in combined engineering and project management on major construction projects in Alaska, the Lower 48, and overseas. Prior to becoming Vice President of Engineering, Lee held positions within Alyeska as the Valdez Marine Terminal Area Construction Manager, Area Project Manager, and Fairbanks Business United Maintenance and Reliability Manager. While working in Valdez from 1992 to 1998, Lee was involved in the management of most of the major construction projects at the Valdez Marine Terminal. He assumed his current position in July 2002.
Lee is a member of the University of Alaska Fairbanks Petroleum Engineering Advisory Board, the American Petroleum Institute’s Operations and Technical Subcommittee, and is on the Board of Directors of Big Brother/Big Sisters of Fairbanks.
Lee moved to Fairbanks in 1998 with his wife Betty and their two dogs. He enjoys traveling, scuba diving and underwater photography. |
