Mr. Donohue joined Akal Security in 2004 after retiring as the Chief of Police of the Honolulu Police Department. He has served as a national Contract Administrator, Chief of Operations, and Chief of Executive Accounts before his appointment as the Regional Director of the Pacific Region.
Mr. Donohue was born and raised in Hawaii and joined the Honolulu Police Department in 1964. He served in every rank of the Department and was named Chief of Police in April 1998. He retired in 2004.
Amongst his many accomplishments, he was responsible for the Honolulu Police Department's accreditation by the Commission of Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies in 2003. Today, the Department is the only major city police department in the nation that has received the Tri-Arch Award, which signifies that the Department is accredited, as well as, its Communications and Training Divisions. |
