Lee Alford was elected senior vice president, Residential Wood Products in June 2004. In his current position he has management responsibilities for Softwood Lumber, Structurwood (OSB), Weyerhaeuser Building Materials, Trus Joist, Southern Plywood, Western Veneer and Plywood, and Residential Market Development.
At Weyerhaeuser, during 2002 to 2004 he served as vice president, Softwood Lumber. From 1999 to 2002 he was vice president, Southern Timberland, and from 1996 to 1999 he was vice president, Mississippi/Louisiana Operations.
Prior to joining Weyerhaeuser, Alford worked in the forest products industry for 26 years. He served as vice president/general manager for Cavenham Forest Industries (1986 to 1996), president of Duke City Lumber Company (1991to 1996), and held several different positions with Crown Zellerbach (1970 to 1986).
Alford graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor of Science degree in forestry in 1969. In 1970 he received a Master of Science degree in forestry from NAU. He also attended the Stanford Executive Education Series (1976) and the University of Michigan Executive Program (2000).
Since joining Weyerhaeuser, Alford has worked on several special assignments and projects, including being the Wood Products Safety Champion and serving on the Corporate Health & Safety Council, the Support Alignment Steering Committee and Forest Express (e-commerce). |
