BACKGROUND: Lee is a native of Jacksonville and received his preparatory education at Episcopal High School; graduating in 1977. He obtained his B.A. from the University of Florida in 1980 (political science and history) and his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1983. Lee is a former assistant state attorney who prosecuted significant white collar crime and drug cases for two years. Lee has over twenty years of significant experience in a variety of complex litigation matters, including trial and appellate work. He has litigated matters in federal and state courts as well as administrative, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution proceedings. These include matters in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Minnesota, California, North Carolina, Missouri and Arizona. His administrative practice has included matters before the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the United States Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals. He has also represented clients in federal and state appellate matter in courts throughout the country, including the United States Supreme Court, where he successfully prosecuted a certiorari petition in a complex products liability matter. These have involved several reported decisions in multiple areas of the law including, federal discrimination claims, punitive damages, federal pre-emption issues, misrepresentation, environmental claims and state substantive and procedural law issues. Lee is an "AV" rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell and practices in the area of litigation, emphasizing complex commercial litigation including real property, landlord-tenant, construction, mortgage foreclosure and finance, securities, insurance defense and coverage, products liability, bankruptcy, employment and professional liability.
