Lee M. Gerkin has 20 years of experience in investment banking. Mr. Gerkin began his career at New York based Chemical Bank in their Merchant Banking Group. In 1982 he was transferred to Madrid to establish a Corporate Finance Group for the bank. Upon his return to New York he joined Lazard Freres and worked on international Financial Advisory and M&A transactions. After three years, Mr. Gerkin joined James Capel (now HSBC Securities) as Deputy Head of Corporate Finance. He subsequently started the Equity Capital Markets Group which lead managed over 20 IPOs including IFR's 1994 Emerging Markets Equity Deal of the Year. Mr. Gerkin joined Smith Barney in 1995 as Managing Director and Group Head for Latin American investment banking and in the next year Smith Barney ranked #3 Full Credit to each Manager for Latin American equity underwriting. In 1997, Mr. Gerkin's group completed over $2.5 billion of financial advisory transactions. Mr. Gerkin has a Juris Doctor degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law. |
