Le Thi Phuong Mai is a senior program officer at the Population Council's Vietnam office in Hanoi. She oversees projects related to improving the quality of reproductive health care. She serves as a principal investigator and program manager, conducting intervention and evaluation research, including on projects related to gender-based violence and youth-friendly services. She has provided training and presented the Council's research on qualitative and quantitative methodology related to gender-based violence projects, youth decisionmaking on sexuality and HIV/AIDS, male involvement in reproductive health, and sex workers. She has also written about violence against women in Vietnam and its consequences for their reproductive health.
Before joining the Population Council 1996, Mai was with the Institute for Statistical Science at the Vietnam General Statistics Office. She conducted research on issues related to population and socio-economics. She earned her doctorate at the National Economic University and her masters degree at the Mahidol University in Thailand. |
