Lawton Wehle Fitt joined the Board of Citizens Communications Company in January 2005. She is a non-executive director of Reuters and of CIENA Corporation and a trustee of several cultural and educational organizations including PS 1 Contemporary Art Center in New York (of which she is Vice Chairman); Kunst-Werke Contemporary Art Center in Berlin Germany; the Darden School Foundation and World-Links.
Ms. Fitt spent more than 20 years as an investment banker with Goldman Sachs & Co. and was named a partner in 1994. During her career at Goldman Sachs she worked in New York City and London. Throughout the 1990s she was a senior member of Goldman's High Technology investment banking team responsible for the structuring pricing and execution of initial public offerings and other transactions for many of the world's leading technology companies.
She returned to London in 2000 to head the European High Technology investment banking effort and retired from Goldman Sachs and from investment banking in October 2002. At that time she was appointed Secretary (Chief Executive Officer) of the Royal Academy of Arts one of Britain's leading institutions dedicated to the visual arts a position she held until her resignation in December 2004.
Ms. Fitt is a graduate of Brown University receiving an A.B. in European history. She received an M.B.A. from the Colgate Darden Graduate School of Business Administration of the University of Virginia. |
