Mr. Briscoe joined Maxygen in November 2000 as chief financial officer and senior vice president. From July 1994 until November 2000, Mr. Briscoe was chief financial officer and vice president, finance and administration of Catalytica, Inc., a company engaged in the application of expertise in catalytic technologies to the pharmaceutical and energy industries. Before joining Catalytica, he held various executive and financial positions, including president and chief operating officer and director at Brae Corporation, vice president of corporate development at Transamerica Corp. and chief executive officer of United States Commercial Telephone Corp. Mr. Briscoe has a M.B.A. from Stanford University, an M.S. in business from the University of Southern California, and a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Missouri. |
