Lawrence S. Chu is a Managing Director of the firm's corporate advisory business.
Prior to joining Evercore, Mr. Chu was a Director of Rohatyn Associates LLC. Previously, Mr. Chu was a Vice President of Deutsche Bank’s Mergers and Acquisitions Group. Prior to Deutsche Bank, Mr. Chu worked for Mpower Communications as Vice President of Strategy, Planning and Business Development, and prior to that, Mr. Chu worked at Salomon Brothers in the Global Telecommunications Investment Banking Group.
Mr. Chu has extensive experience advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, leveraged finance and restructuring transactions and has advised on some of the largest transactions in recent years, particularly in the TMT sector. His most recent transactions include: AT&T’s acquisition of BellSouth, AT&T’s acquisition of USi and SBC’s acquisition of AT&T Corp.
Mr. Chu graduated magna cum laude from New York University with a degree in Computer Science. He was also elected to the Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Mu Epsilon, Omicron Delta Epsilon and National Order of Omega honor societies. Additionally, Mr. Chu was a member of the New York University Lacrosse Team.
Mr. Chu is presently a Young New Yorker Patron of the New York Philharmonic, Young Associate of the Metropolitan Opera, Junior Associate of The Museum of Modern Art, member of the Guggenheim Museum Young Collectors Council, and Contributing Sponsor and member of the Junior Committee of the Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation NY*NJ*CT. |
