Lawrence P. Maher is a partner of the firm, where he is a member of its Litigation Department and Banking, Business Financing & Creditors' Rights Practice Group. Prior to joining the firm in September 1996, he was a member of the former law firm of Mackenzie, Welt, Maher, North & Weeks in Woodbridge, New Jersey. Mr. Maher concentrates his practice in banking and commercial law, with a particular emphasis on the representation of lenders in connection with the restructuring and "work out" of troubled loans, complex foreclosure and bankruptcy matters, and advising creditors on debt collection strategies. He represents major banks and other financial institutions. Mr. Maher also represents real estate investors and leasing companies in various aspects of their business. Mr. Maher regularly lectures for the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education on topics related to creditors’ rights issues and the Uniform Commercial Code. A graduate of Fairfield University (1970), Mr. Maher received a law degree from Seton Hall Law School (1973). Following graduation, he clerked for New Jersey Superior Court Judge Nicholas Scalera from 1973-74. Mr. Maher is a member of the Union County and New Jersey State Bar Associations. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey (1973) and before the U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey. |
