Lawrence P. Casson has prepared and prosecuted patent applications, with particular emphasis on biotechnology. He has analyzed intellectual property for validity, enforceability and infringement. His experience includes interference practice and aspects of pharmaceutical litigation. His work has involved aspects of immunology, gene and protein expression, methods for identifying activators and inhibitors of biologically active proteins, analysis and standardization of dietary supplements, treatments for cancer and other diseases, plant molecular biology and polymer chemistry.
Dr. Casson received his Ph.D. from Princeton University in Molecular Biology in 1996 where he carried out research in antibody structure function and somatic hypermutation and selection. He has also investigated genetics and sex-specific gene regulation in the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans. Dr. Casson has published papers in Journal of Immunology, Journal of Experimental Medicine, Cell, Proceedings of the National Academy of Science, and Journal of Bacteriology. |
