Larry Luckey has been in the banking industry, both directly and indirectly in commercial banking, for 35 years. His commercial banking career began in 1973 in the credit training program at Union Bank, where he also became acquainted with Donald Solsby, now President and Chief Executive Officer of Plaza Bank.
After being solicited by the founders of Imperial Bank in 1978, he took the post of Vice President and Branch Manger. A year later he joined forces with Mr. Solsby, who came to Imperial Bank as Regional Vice President. In 1981, Mr. Luckey joined the Bank of Orange County as Senior Vice President and was Senior Loan and Credit Officer.
In 1983 Mr. Luckey joined Pacific National Bank as Chief Operating Officer and Director, later becoming President and Chief Executive Officer. During his 12 years with Pacific National Bank the bank’s assets grew from $17 million to more than $200 million. In 1995, he was named Chief Operating Officer for the troubled Pacific Inland Bancorp. Within two years he re-engineered the bank to a position deemed by regulators to be well capitalized. Mr. Luckey and his team completed this task when Pacific Inland Bank was sold to Placer Bancorp.
In 1997, Mr. Luckey co-founded eFunds Corporation, which provided electronic payment processing support systems via the Federal Reserve Bank. He then co-founded First Web Bancorp and Check-site Corporation. In conjunction with these companies he founded Security State Savings Bank, a Nevada industrial bank.
During his career, Mr. Luckey has served on the Board of Directors of Pacific National Bank, PNB Financial Group, Security First Bank of Fullerton (successor to Pacific Inland Bank) eFunds Corporation, Check-site Incorporated, First Web BanCorp, Security State Bank and Plaza Bank of which he was a founder and is Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. During these assignments he has chaired or has been a member of committees with responsibility for loans, asset and liabilities, audit, IT and the Community Reinvestment Act.
Mr. Luckey is a Founding Director Los Alamitos Education Foundation, member of the Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity Alumni Association, a lector at St. Joseph Church in Long Beach, an accredited California Community College instructor and a former Member of the UCI Chancellor’s Club
Mr. Luckey earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance and a Master of Business Administration from California State University Long Beach. He and his wife Pam reside in Long Beach and have two children and two grandchildren. |
