Larry Gibbons was named Vice President of Procurement for Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings Inc. (AAWW) in February of 2006. He is responsible for working closely with all AAWW departments to develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy for the Company.
Mr. Gibbons previously worked for Atlas Air Inc. an operating subsidiary of AAWW from 1996 to 2001 first as Director of Material Management/Purchasing and then as Vice President of Purchasing.
Most recently Mr. Gibbons was Vice President of Contracts and Properties for Eos Airlines Inc. where he was responsible for acquiring all goods and services for the start-up flag carrier. Prior to that he was Program Manager for Lockheed Martin Inc. and an Executive Consultant with Team SAI Inc.
A career naval officer Mr. Gibbons served among a number of assignments as Commanding Officer of the U.S. Navy International Logistics Control Office; Chief Operations Officer of the Naval Aviation Supply Office; and Director of Contracts for the Defense Industrial Supply Center. He also was Supply Officer aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. John F. Kennedy
Mr. Gibbons received his bachelor’s degree in Economics from Marist College a master’s degree in Business Administration from Old Dominion University and participated in the Executive Development Program at Columbia University. |
