Lawrence A. Swain, who has more than 31 years' experience, is a member of the firm's Corporate Law Department.
Mr. Swain’s rare combination of business law and intellectual property expertise makes him a unique fit for technology companies. He has significant experience in business transactions and licensing involving software, medical devices and technologies, copyrights, trademarks and patents across a broad spectrum of businesses and industries.
Mr. Swain's clients include locally-based companies with regional or national scope, including Associated Wholesale Grocers, Gear For Sports, Gill Studios, Black & Veatch, Jack Henry Software, Bats Trading Electronic Stock Exchange, Pharmacy Buying Association and Pioneer Financial Services. He also represents national entities located outside the Kansas City area, such as Crane Plumbing, The Major League Baseball Players Association and Woodstock Ventures.
Mr. Swain speaks frequently on the subjects of intellectual property, business law and taxation.
