Lawrence A. Schwartz, CPA is a partner in CCR's Tax Services Department. He is an Accredited Estate Planner, a member of the firm's Executive Committee, CCR's Director of Tax, and a member of the Technology Committee. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Hartford and a Masters of Science in Taxation from Bentley College. Mr. Schwartz has more than 30 years of public accounting experience in national, regional, and local CPA firms. His practice concentrates in working with successful individuals, families, and closely-held businesses on sophisticated estate and business succession planning, tax compliance and IRS controversy work. In addition, he provides guidance to clients with their real estate and business transaction needs to minimize their tax liabilities. He also serves as Executor or Trustee to many of his clients, overseeing the administration of complex estates and trusts. Mr. Schwartz was an appointed member to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants' Federal Tax Division. He sat on the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants' Responsibilities in Tax Practice Committee, is a frequent speaker at federal tax forums and has published articles in professional tax journals. He has appeared on 60 Minutes and been quoted in Forbes magazine and other national publications. Mr. Schwartz is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, has served on the board of directors of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants, past president of The Boston Estate Planning Council and is a member of the Boston IRS Districts Directors Liaison Group. He is a board member of the Boston Center for Jewish Heritage, ESSCO-MGH Breast Cancer Research Fund, and is the Treasurer of Boy Scouts Troop 1 Dover. |
