Laurie is an accomplished writer, editor, and print project manager. As editorial director of Prentice Associates Incorporated she oversees the editorial quality of all print publications, including books, brochures, newsletters, annual reports, and software manuals. She has written 15 books for reading-reluctant adolescents and edited another 15 on subjects as varied as promoting resilience in children, teaching with computers, and the role of museums in education; edited two magazines including Classroom Computer News, which she cofounded with Lloyd R. Prentice; and edited, written, and produced numerous brochures, newsletters, and annual reports. Early in her career, as a staff writer at McLean Hospital, Laurie discovered a passion for writing about mental health, medicine, and human behavior. Her freelance articles on these and other topics have appeared in The New York Times Magazine, The Boston Globe Magazine, and The Boston Phoenix, among other publications.Education: Laurie received her undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Albany and completed a nondegreed graduate program in public communication at Boston University.
