Experience:
Laurent Borey is one of the five Firm Practice Leaders heading Mayer Brown's tax practice worldwide and is also member of the team leading Mayer Brown Investment Fund Group. He is a highly regarded transactional lawyer who specializes in the structuring of multi-sponsors and multi-country transactions with a particular emphasis on leveraged acquisitions by private equity houses. He has been involved, as advisor to the purchaser, in many major equity deals in France in the last two years : Materis (LBO France), Terreal (LBO France), Provimi (Permira), Zodiac (The Carlyle Group), Cegelec (LBO France), Numericâble / Noos (Cinven, Altice), Elis (Eurazeo), Completel (Cinven, Altice), Medi Partenaires (LBO France), etc. Laurent has extensive experience in representations of taxpayers at all stages of tax controversies. His practice also includes structuring work in connection with fund creations and real estate transactions. With French being his native language, Laurent also speaks English.
