Simmons has been on the Zions Bancorporation board of directors since 1978. He is the founder and president of SCF Partners. Prior to founding SCF, Simmons cofounded Simmons & Company International, where he was a partner between 1974 and 1989. Before that, he was a corporate finance officer at The First National Bank of Chicago. He is chairman of the board of Oil States International., and serves on the boards of Express Jet and Simmons Media Group. He is also on the board and is former chairman of Texas Children's Hospital, a trustee of Rice University and chairman of the Council of Overseers of its Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management, a trustee of The Gordon and Mary Cain Pediatric Neurology Research Foundation, and is on the board of the Houston Endowment, the Harvard Business School Visiting Committee, and the Sam Houston Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Simmons received a B.S. from the University of Utah and an M.B.A. from Harvard University. |
