Ms. Schmidt joined RatnerPrestia after working as a summer associate with the firm. She is a member of RatnerPrestia's Chemical, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical and Materials Patent Procurement Group and its Litigation/Dispute Resolution Department. In 2006, she earned her Juris Doctorate from Villanova University School of Law. At Villanova, Ms. Schmidt was vice president of the Intellectual Property Society and served as a staff writer for the Villanova Sports and Entertainment Law Journal. While in law school, Ms. Schmidt externed for Judge Irvin J. Snyder and the Late Judge Charles Weiner. She also worked as a legal intern at a pharmaceutical services organization actively assisting in a pending trademark infringement action, patent prosecution and contract renegotiations. Ms. Schmidt received her Bachelors of Science degree in Biology from Loyola College in Maryland. She was accepted into the Tri-Beta National Biological Honors Society. Before law school, Ms. Schmidt interned in the legal department of a pharmaceutical company gaining experience in patent prosecution and contracts. Ms. Schmidt is a member of the Benjamin Franklin Inn of Court, Philadelphia Intellectual Property Law Association and the American Intellectual Property Law Association. |
