Lauren Handel is a partner in McDermott Will & Emery LLP’s New York office. She is a member of the Firm’s Trial Department and Environmental and OSHA, MSHA & Catastrophe Response Groups.
Lauren represents clients in environmental and toxic tort litigation. She also counsels clients on compliance with federal, state and local environmental and workplace safety regulations and represents clients in all aspects of environmental agency and OSHA enforcement actions. She has advised clients on environmental regulatory and liability issues associated with business transactions and conducted environmental due diligence.

2003 OSHA process safety management program quality verification (PQV) inspection of a petroleum refinery in Delaware
Lauren authored a chapter in the Occupational Safety and Health Law Handbook and is a contributing editor to Occupational Hazards Magazine. While in law school, she served as a staff member of the Georgetown Law Journal and won the International Academy of Trial Lawyers Student Advocacy Award for her work in the Federal Legislation Clinic, District of Columbia Division.
