Laura has over 18 years experience designing and building innovative software solutions involving images, media and information. As one of the founders of Salient Stills, she blended her knowledge of media, video and software to conceive key features and original algorithms for VideoFOCUS. At Salient Stills, Laura ensures the software meets the changing demands of users in each market, taking every opportunity to elaborate on the possibilities the product delivers. Further, Laura works with government and contract customers, helping to create unique solutions to meet their imaging needs. One of the first students at the pioneering MIT Media Lab, Laura moved on to work with the Advanced Technology Human Interface Group at Apple Computer, where she came to understand the inherent value of user centered design combined with innovative technologies. Laura holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from Yale University, a master's degree from MIT, and is the holder of two US and one Japanese patent. |
