Laura Lightbody joined CLS in January of 2006. Since then, she has worked on a variety of public affairs accounts, providing media relations expertise and strategic advice for both international and domestic clients. She has worked on several public affairs campaigns and has years of experience with event planning. Her past and present clients include Americans for Secure Retirement, a public affairs campaign and coalition developed by CLS to raise the level of debate on retirement security issues and promote tax incentives for retirement vehicles. She has extensive experience with international clients such as the Center for Wine Origins, the Comité Interprofessionel du Vin de Champagne (CIVC), the trade association representing the Champagne region of France, and the Republic of Congo. Prior to working at CLS, Laura worked in the legal world both in the public and private sector. At Arnold & Porter she served as a legal assistant in the general litigation practice group. She previously worked with Senior Counsel at the Office of the Corporation Counsel in the Child Abuse and Neglect Department where she was a member of the Washington, D.C. Child Fatality Committee. Laura is originally from Michigan and holds a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Michigan, where she was involved in student government campaigns and planning of campus-wide events. |
