With more than 15 years of investment banking and corporate development experience, Laura Kevghas not only represents professionalism, but company dedication. As a founding member of the firm, Laura rejoined Mirus Capital Advisors in 2006 as the firm's newest Principal, after 10 years with Advanstar Communications Inc. At Mirus previously from 1988 to 1996, she held positions of increasing responsibility, before leaving her position as Vice President to transfer her skills onto the buy side of the transaction.Advanstar is a worldwide leading media company providing integrated marketing solutions through its portfolio of events, publications, and web sites, and as Director of Corporate Development Laura managed the company's acquisition and divestiture programs. Laura and her team completed 42 domestic and international acquisitions, ranging in scope from $200,000 to more than $230 million in the US, Brazil, France, Germany and the United Kingdom. Laura was responsible for the broad spectrum of tasks involved in completing transactions, from developing detailed financial models and valuation scenarios for potential transactions, planning and leading the due diligence exercise, leading or participating in negotiations, and the preparation of purchase agreement and schedules. As a result of these acquisitions, corporate revenue more than doubled over a nine-year period, from $151 million to more than $375 million. She also managed three divestitures of non-core assets, generating more than $200 million in cash to fund additional acquisitions. During her earlier tenure with Mirus, Laura was responsible for new client acquisition as well as preparing offering documentation and negotiating transactions for clients. She was directly involved in the successful sale of more than a dozen client companies and prepared valuations of client companies in multiple industries.Laura holds an MBA and a BS Magna Cum Laude in Finance and Economics from Bentley College, where she was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, Bentley’s honor society. She lives in Westford, Massachusetts with her husband and two teenage daughters. In her spare time, Laura enjoys gourmet cooking, all manner of arts and crafts, and volunteering in her children’s schools and at her church. |
