Ms. Wassmuth was born in Sioux City, Iowa. She graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, earning a B.A. with college honors in 1991. In 1995 she received her law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law, with distinction. Following graduation from law school, Ms. Wassmuth was a law clerk for the Honorable Harlan Bockman, Chief Judge of Colorado’s 17th Judicial District. From 1996 until she joined the firm in 1999, Ms. Wassmuth worked in the municipal court in Aurora, Colorado where she tried more than seventy jury trials. Since 1999, Ms. Wassmuth has represented physicians, hospitals and lawyers in professional negligence cases. She has also represented both employers and employees in employment disputes, at the administrative and Federal District Court levels. Ms. Wassmuth has lived in Glenwood Springs, Colorado since 2005. There she worked with a local firm primarily in the area of employment law until returning to Kennedy, Childs & Fogg in the Summer of 2007. Ms. Wassmuth has been an active member of the Colorado Women’s Bar Association, serving on the Board of Directors in 1999 and 2000. Currently, Ms. Wassmuth serves on the Board of Directors of the Garfield County Public Libraries. In 2006, she served on to the Colorado Bar Association’s Legislative Policy Committee. |
